Our Vision, Mission & Guiding Principles

The Values that
Guide Our Mission

Our mission, vision, and guiding principles of Children’s Oral Outreach Canada (COHOC)— this volunteer-led organization provides ethical, sustainable pediatric dental care while partnering with communities in Antigua to improve children’s oral health and well-being.

Vision

A world where every child has access to essential oral health care and the opportunity to live pain-free with dignity and confidence.

Mission

To provide ethical, high-quality dental care to underserved communities in and around Antigua, Guatemala, and other potential underserviced communities, while fostering compassion, dignity, education, and collaboration through Obras and other Dental Missions with the same purpose.

Guiding Principles

We place the dignity, safety, and well-being of every patient at the center of all decisions, delivering care that is respectful, culturally sensitive, and ethically sound.

Our mission is driven entirely by volunteers who generously contribute their time, skills, and expertise in the service of others, without personal or financial gain.

We are committed to responsible patient selection, continuity of care, and collaboration with local healthcare partners to ensure sustainable impact beyond a single mission.

We support healthcare education for volunteers, students, and local providers, fostering shared learning and strengthening long-term clinical capacity.

We operate with integrity and transparency, ensuring that resources and donations are used responsibly and directly in support of patient care and mission-related activities.

We honour local traditions, values, and social contexts, engaging with communities in a spirit of humility, respect, and mutual trust.
